Many times your refrigerator will show you signs of wear or breakdown before it simply stops working all together. While showing multiple signs of disrepair should be your wake up call to contact a certified AA-repair technician to have an inspection. If your fridge is a newer model it should be able to be easily repaired, however it may be more economical and energy efficient to replace an older model fridge showing these signs.
- Motor Problems– Having a refrigerator motor that constantly runs could indicate a problem with the motor itself, or a problem with the fridge not being able to maintain it’s cool temperature.
- Food that is Spoiling– If your food is turning sour far more quickly than normal it is a sign that your refrigerator isn’t maintaining it’s cool temperature.
- Water leaks around your fridge–Water pooling around a major appliance like your refrigerator could indicate that there is a minor repair needed with a seal, or it could be an indicator of a larger problem such as a broken heater or tube channel or bad insulation.
- Frayed Wires–Whenever there is frayed wiring you run the risk of having an unexpected appliance breakdown, occasionally you may be able to get a replacement for your bad wiring, however many times a bad wire could mean an entire fridge replacement!
- Large Energy Bill–If your energy bills keep rising the cause could be inefficient appliances. If your refrigerator is broken it could be using much more energy than normal to cool your food and keep it’s thermostat low.
