Signs that Your Heating System Isn’t Working Properly

When your furnace has a dirty filter, it could cause it to overheat and stop working. This problem is actually the case with about 90% of faulty gas heat pumps. To get air ventilation going through as it should, all you have to do is clean or replace the filter, and reset the motor of your electric heat pump, then after 30 minutes, turn it back on.

Sometimes, simply pushing the reset button of your gas heat pump will do the trick. Make sure that after changing your filter that the door cover is put back on properly. Of course, other obvious signs of a faulty furnace would be wrong settings, such as not being on “heat” or on the right temperature.

During the wintertime, you’ll need to keep an eye on your furnace. If you see ice or snow on the unit, you’ll need to clean it off. Not doing so will cause the air to become blocked, which will prevent warm air from being pushed throughout your home.
